As the Headteacher of this SEMH school you will be accountable for all areas of operational and educational performance within the school. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the needs of the students are met, in the most appropriate manner and to the highest standards.

The School:

This is an independent DfE-registered, co-educational day school in this Schools' Group, which specialises in accommodating students who have Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

\n

The school typically caters for up to 25 students aged between 12-18 years of age and each classroom features different learning environments for alternative ways of learning. Individually tailored educational pathways are created to ensure each student's needs are met.

\n

The teaching team is supported by a multi-disciplinary team including psychologist, occupational therapist and therapeutic practitioners.

\n

They teach the National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and offer a range of qualifications from Functional Skills to completing GCSE's and A-Levels in a variety of subject at Key Stages 4 and 5.

\n

The School is purpose built to provide students with a safe and relaxing environment, which allows them to develop their social skills and expand their friendship circles.

\n

Students who are approaching adulthood can benefit from pastoral support which focuses on teaching students how to manage finances and develop life skills to encourage independent living.

\n

Typically, students attending the school are settled within one of the Group's residential provisions.

About you:

\n

\n
• You will have qualifications relevant to the role such as a degree in teaching or management. NPQH is desirable.
\n
• You will have strong knowledge of Independent School Standards Regulations and Education Inspection Framework
\n
• You will have extensive knowledge of safeguarding. Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead is essential.\n
\n
• You will have successful leadership experience in managing complex behaviours with trauma informed practice and appropriate interventions.
\n
• You will have concrete knowledge and experiencing of multi-agency working to support Looked after Children and directing on EHCP outcomes.
\n
• Your professional experience, coupled with your determination to achieve excellence, enthusiasm and a positive approach will help you to develop the school and ensure that every pupil makes outstanding progress.
