Health & Safety Advisor



Location: London



Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (Depending on Experience)



D7 Recruitment is exclusively seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join a construction company's team in London. This is a remarkable opportunity for individuals who are either at the early stages of their health and safety career or those with experience looking to transition into the construction industry.



Our Client specialises in the new build, refurbishment, and fit-out of luxury residential properties, delivering the finest quality projects for the most discerning clients in prime London locations. Established over 20 years ago, this subcontractor has become a trusted leader, delivering prestigious projects discreetly for their clients.



Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Carrying out informal site visits and formal audits.

  • Undertaking and assisting in accident/incident investigations

  • Assisting in the development, review and monitoring of RAMS

  • Implementing and monitoring adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Delivering toolbox talks and providing engagement and best practice advice at site level

  • Reviewing and monitoring supply chain health and safety management / performance

  • Promoting and championing new initiatives and drives

  • Engaging with site teams and providing advice on health and safety matters during the construction phase



Skills:




  • Passionate about making a real improvement to occupational wellbeing, safety and health standards within construction.

  • High standard of written English, able to express and communicate effectually in writing.

  • Confident interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively and develop professional working relationships at all levels.

  • Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work productively remotely when required.

  • Able to work proactively of own initiative when required.

  • Proficient level of IT skills, including proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Desire to learn and develop both professional and soft skills – equally able to mentor and guide when required.

  • Able to organise, prioritise and manage own time to meet workload and job requirements.

  • Can offer practical solutions or suggestions to problem solving, with the ability to ‘think outside the box’ when required.



Qualifications & Experience:



• L3 qualification in occupational health and safety (NEBOSH General or equivalent).



• Technical member of IOSH or wanting to work towards.



• NEBOSH Construction is desired but not essential.



• Construction/trade background or experience desirable.



• Experience in delivering training would be beneficial.



• First aid / CSCS / SEATS / Asbestos awareness etc., beneficial but not essential.



The position will be primarily stationed at their Central London office, with travel site visits and some remote. This role presents an ideal opportunity for a recently qualified Health and Safety professional seeking professional growth and learning within a dynamic work environment.



Additionally, it offers a valuable platform for semi-experienced Health and Safety Advisors to expand their expertise and knowledge in the construction industry.



Working closely with and reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing safety operations across multiple sites in central London and its surrounding areas. Thier diverse project portfolio encompasses a wide range of undertakings, ranging from small-scale domestic refurbishments to large-scale new build developments.
