Who you are Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience Essential Chartered IOSH or equivalent Excellent communication skills and Interpersonal skills Detailed understanding of the legislative frameworks, including the implementation of CDM Strong understanding of risk management and target setting and monitoring performance with analytics Knowledge and awareness of relevant process and policies, including those relating to insurance, security and counter terrorism Experience in incident and emergency management as well as post-incident investigation Excellent negotiation skills: capable of persuading and convincing others if necessary, to achieve desired outputs where required Leadership experience; track record of leading, motivating and managing people Significant experience in a similar Senior Health, Safety and Environmental management role Experience of dealing with regulators/EHOs Desirable Experience within the entertainment and or service industry, including knowledge of relevant industry guidance, e.g. The Purple Guide A Fire Safety Level 4 qualification Chartered member or Member of CIEH Knowledge of Food hygiene and safety and licensing legislation Behaviours The following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a success An enthusiasm for health and safety practices Self-motivated to stay on top of latest developments, horizon scanning and industry best-practice Proactive, professional and personable What the role includes Managing and developing an industry leading Health and Safety Management system and programme, that is up to date with current and future legislation and best practices Ensuring senior management are informed of relevant developing health and safety risk management issues Providing strategic direction and expert support for a range of businesses including venues and festival operators, event producers and tours Building and engaging a health and safety communities Establishing a health and safety culture Reporting to senior management on key metrics and critical health and safety related issues including any significant non-compliance with laws across our portfolio, which includes medium and large music venues, a range of festivals and outdoor events and touring shows. The role works various operators and venues across Live Nation UK and Ireland. It will also work with the Corporate Risk Management who are responsible for risk assessment, best practices and insurance across the businesses. Fulfilling the function of the competent person under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 Be and or identify the duty holders for Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015; Asbestos Management; Legionella Management; RIDDOR; COSHH; Fire safety. Managing the Health and Safety team Developing company strategy for managing Fire and Health and Safety Developing H&S policy, procedures and approach to risk assessments across all business activity Developing and maintaining Primary Authority relationships Planning and preparing for new or updated legislation, e.g. the Draft Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill Preparing and maintaining appropriate H&S budgets Communicating H&S legislation across the Group Conducting and tracking relevant staff training Managing the administration of the company risk management system Appointing and managing consultants, and the safety team Developing and managing the Fire and H&S audit programme across all divisions Providing advice, support documentation, manuals etc, to the board, and senior and unit management, to enable them to meet current legislation requirements and to ensure that company procedures are being maintained Advising on all current codes of practice appertaining to the company s business activities Horizon scanning and lobbying on behalf of the organisation in terms of new legislation that will impact the business Equal Opportunities We are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
