Shirley Parsons are proud to represent a global industrial manufacturer who are looking to appoint their Health and Safety Manager. This opportunity will give you the autonomy to shape and influence the company's Health and Safety culture across their UK site in the greater Cardiff area, with the support of a safety team who will report to you.

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for:
- Develops and implements Behavioural safety programs
- Identifies, develops, organizes and delivers Health & Safety training
- Leads, develops and delegates to Safety and Health personnel to enhance capabilities and site performance.
- Manages the site ISO 45001 Management System and SHE Self-Assessment Program and supports the integrated Management Systems for ISO (phone number removed) and 45001 certifications
- Manages the Safety and Health budget for the site
- Ensures that all Corporate Health, Safety and Security policies are implemented, and the site is always compliant through internal auditing & inspections.
The Health and Safety Manager will have:
- In-depth knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and practices. Awareness of USA OSHA would be an advantage.
- Practical experience of Behavioural safety and culture change.
- Practical hands-on experience of confined space entry, risk assessments, safe systems of work, contractor safety during shutdown in a hazardous process industry environment (particularly: steel manufacturing, pharmaceutical, oil & gas and chemical process)
- Hazardous materials knowledge coupled with Emergency response planning and capability.
- Computer literate for Microsoft systems such as SharePoint, e-learning programs and incident / action databases.
Profile:
- Dynamic and self-motivated with a drive for results, able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to organize and manage diverse and multiple resources, including budgets, people & contractors
- Strong communication, influencing and collaboration to motivate and lead cross-functional staff.
- People leaderships and development skills.
Education/ Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in occupational safety, engineering, sciences or related field.
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate in Safety or Grad IOSH
- Minimum five years relevant Health & Safety experience in a Hazardous Process Industry environment
