Total Care Recruitment is delighted to be working as an approved agency in the Southern Trust Area. We are seeking health care assistants for full-time hours Monday - Sunday in Daisy Hill Hospital Emergency Department. Job Description: Band 3 Healthcare Assistant Job Purpose: To assist in providing safe, effective, person-centered care. Responsibilities include supporting patients with daily activities (e.g., washing, toileting, eating) and performing delegated clinical duties (e.g., venepuncture, dressings, ECG, and glucose monitoring) under the supervision of registered nursing staff. Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain professional standards. Main Responsibilities: Provision of Care: Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their dignity. Assist with personal care (washing, toileting, eating) as directed by nursing staff. Perform delegated clinical tasks (e.g., venepuncture, dressings, physiological observations). Encourage patients to actively participate in their care. Report any risks or changes in patient condition to registered nurses. Communication: Communicate effectively and courteously with patients and staff. Report changes in patient condition to registered nurses promptly. Keep accurate records (e.g., fluid balance charts) as required. Personal & Professional Development: Participate in performance reviews and training, including Level 3 Certificate in Healthcare Support (if not already held). Contribute to the induction and development of others. Health, Safety & Security: Maintain hygiene standards, report incidents, and comply with health and safety policies. Report any safety concerns to the appropriate person. Service Improvement & Quality: Participate in workplace audits and report concerns to registered nurses. Work within your competence and seek support when needed to ensure high-quality care. This role involves delivering compassionate, respectful care while working closely with the nursing team to ensure a high standard of service. Experience/ Qualifications/ Registration Hold NVQ/VRQ/QCF/RQF level 3 Certificate in Health/Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification) taking up post Or ****Hold NVQ/VRQ/QCF level 2 Certificate in Health/Health & Social Care (or an equivalent qualification), and **1 years experience of delivering direct care in a care environment Or ****Hold 4 GCSEs at grade A-C including English and Maths (or equivalent qualification) and ** 1 years experience of delivering direct care in a care environment. OR ****Have **2 years experience of delivering direct care in a care environment ****Staff who do not hold a Level 3 Certificate in Healthcare Support, will be required to complete this qualification within 18 months of commencement of employment.
