As such, we are currently looking for a Health & Safety and Compliance Manager to join the Estates Team and be an integral part in providing high quality Health and Safety management and administration across the group and our stakeholders. Main Responsibilities
- To co-ordinate and support the requirement for compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 with as far as is reasonably practicable
- Maintain up to date and relevant legislative and regulatory knowledge on Health & Safety regulations and communicate key updates to senior management and all staff as required
- To lead and own the achievement of external H&S accreditation as required by the organisation
- Lead and own the production of all Health & Safety policy and procedures
- Embed robust monitoring of all aspects of Health & Safety across all component company offices
- Ensure the delivery of HS related PPM, compliance and regulatory actions and the associated paperwork as required by Ofsted and other governing bodies.
- Embed robust monitoring of all aspects of Health & Safety across our residential property based businesses
- Lead and own a Quality Assurance framework for a rolling programme of audit checks against all requirements of our Health and Safety policy and procedures
- Lead and own a performance monitoring dashboard of Health & Safety compliance across all component companies
- Manage a network of Health & Safety co-ordinators in all component company locations to ensure they have clear roles and responsibilities, engage and support them in their role and hold them to account
- To lead a culture of robust compliance and accountability for Health & Safety
- Work with relevant colleagues to develop suitable training on Health & Safety awareness
- To complete reports for the senior management team and board as required
- To ensure robust record keeping at all times for all aspects of Health & Safety
Essential Requirements
- Excellent computer literacy skills including being able to work with Microsoft Offices and produce reports
- Ability to work part of a team
- Ability to prioritise workloads
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle changing priorities
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience of working within a Health & Safety Environment
- Hold a National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certification or equivalent or be willing to work towards this certification
- Experience of working within a Commercial Property Environment
