Join our client's dynamic and forward-thinking organisation as a Health & Safety Manager! Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking a skilled professional to contribute to their ongoing commitment to maintaining and evolving health and safety policy, procedures, and processes. As Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing health and safety in the business, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the way in health and safety strategies and policies, ensuring they align with industry standards.
  • Collaborating with the team to create and evolve standards, procedures, and systems that uphold health and safety across company operations.
  • Assessing and improving working practises to guarantee compliance with legislation and enhance overall safety.
  • Overseeing in-house training sessions, equipping managers and employees with the knowledge to address health and safety issues and mitigate risks.
  • Conducting assessments and reporting on health and safety, vehicles, incidents, and environmental concerns, providing actionable plans for improvement.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Ensuring the company complies with the 45001 standard and maintains all health and safety accreditations.
  • Conducting periodic risk assessments on facilities.
  • Coordinating and managing the testing, inspection, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Collaborating with operations teams to establish and review safe systems of work and task-centred risk assessments.
  • Creating and reviewing COSHH procedures and risk assessments, tailored to meet the specific needs of projects.
  • Guiding safety briefings and delivering relevant in-house training to site operatives.
  • Conducting health and safety site audits and ensuring the completion of client safety pack requests.
  • Facilitating periodic consultations on health and safety matters with employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that facilities and projects have the necessary fire marshals and first aiders.

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience in health and safety management, NEBOSH qualified with a solid understanding of compliance and accreditation requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (#####, 14001, 45001) and their implementation.
  • Strong leadership abilities, capable of developing and empowering teams through effective guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain an open dialogue between management and staff, capturing and documenting all necessary information.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to fostering a culture of development within the organisation.
