We are looking for a Health and Safety officer to oversee all aspects of health, safety and welfare for a well-established Roofing contractor ensuring compliance with internal processes, relevant standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
� Review and maintenance of policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
� Take responsibility for the development of new systems and procedures
� Liaise with each project team to ensure current and future health, safety and welfare requirements are met
� Draft and implement all safety documentation including health and safety plans, risk and method statements, together with any associated information
� Liaise with clients and their relevant safety representatives to ensure current projects comply with safety standards and individual client requirements
� Manage direct employee safety
� Carry out safety tours of all projects on a regular basis
� Produce formal recorded audits or inspections monthly and review actions taken
� Formal reporting of any incidents, accidents or near misses together with monthly review
� Monitor existing workforce skills, assess H&S training requirements, monthly reporting and review with senior management, liaising with training partners
� Carry out van checks, First Aid Kits checks, Fire extinguisher checks, Drug and Alcohol Testing.
� Monthly and annual review with senior management
� Working with site management and operatives, listening to their concerns and provide guidance where appropriate
� Ability to manage own schedule prioritising by risk management
Requirements
� NEBOSH Qualification
� CSCS / NVQ
� Full UK Driving Licence
� Roofing experience desirable
