True are working in partnership with a Contractor who specialise in aiding Local Authorities in their mission to decarbonise Schools, Universities & Colleges across the UK & Ireland. Over the past few years, the company has experienced substantial growth, more than doubling its turnover.
They are seeking an experienced Central Plant or Air Source Heat Pump Design Engineer to join their expanding team. In this role, you'll help clients achieve their net zero goals by designing and selecting tailored heat pump solutions. You'll collaborate closely with consultants, presenting your innovative designs, and work alongside an in-house design team to bring these projects to life.
You’ll be the go-to expert for heat pump technology within the company, serving as their in-house "Heat Pump Guru." In this role, you'll not only lead technical initiatives but also have the opportunity to build and lead your own team in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop commercial heat pump systems, including schematics and layouts.
* Collaborate with architects, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver project-specific solutions.
* Conduct detailed analyses and simulations to ensure systems meet performance and safety standards.
* Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of heat pump systems.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial heat pump design.
* In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
* Strong understanding of F-Gas regulations and how they impact system design.
* Proven experience working with stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
