Surecall Driver Training School is seeking the services of an experienced instructor to join its busy training team located in Stevenage. You will need to be NRI Qualified and have experience of training at all HGV vehicle levels including C1 to CE.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing instruction and guidance to new and existing HGV drivers to ensure they can safely and effectively operate a vehicle. You will help trainees to develop the necessary driving skills and knowledge to pass their HGV driving test and to obtain an HGV driving licence. You will also be responsible for teaching proper driving etiquette, defensive driving techniques and road safety regulations. From time to time, you may also provide additional training support for our off-site team of client assessors. operating within our recruitment division.

Key duties

• Provide on and off-the-road training to new drivers.
• Assess the driving skills of new drivers.
• Plan and deliver driving lessons.
• Provide feedback and guidance on areas of improvement.
• Assist new drivers in gaining the required qualifications.

Driver Trainer Requirements

• Training experience with another driving school or similar.
• A valid UK HGV driving licence to CE Level
• An NRI Qualification
• CPC Qualified instructor - desirable
• Knowledge of the UK DVLA driving test syllabus
• Ability to be patient and reassuring.
• Ability to identify areas of improvement.
• Effective communication and teaching skills
• You must be good at instructing, motivating, assessing, and organizing.
