HGV Mechanic/Tyre Fitter

Proactive Personnel Wolverhampton are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our clients team. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles and equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay.

Duties:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements

- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on vehicles and equipment

- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs

- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems

- Complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime

- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed with R2C

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines

- To be fully flexible with working hours

- Driving cross country (van is provided) to action HGV recovery calls.

- Recovering vehicles by fixing various issues such as: engine faults, tyre, punctures, hydraulic issues, etc.

- Optional but preferred occasional Saturday working to service vehicles.

Experience:

- Proven 2 year experience as a Mechanic or similar role

- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems

- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Familiar RC2 (Not essential as training will be given)
