HGV Technician

HGV Technician | Grimsby | You will work a minimum of 46 hours between 6am-6pm on a 4 on 4 shifts off basis | £18 - £20 per hour depending on skill and experience| Overtime rate is Time & Half and an extra payment for inclusion in the on call rota is provided | Pro–rata earnings between £38,000 - £42,000 depending on OTE

Our client operates in the commercial vehicle and trailer market within the UK and mainland Europe offering rental solutions, sales and maintenance facilities including Tachograph Calibration and 2 Lane Authorised Testing Facility.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Ideally you will hold NVQ/City and Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in commercial vehicle repair, the company would be willing to upskill the right candidate to this level
• Knowledge of HGV, LGV and Trailer systems and experience working within the industry would be preferred but candidates with transferrable skills will be considered
• A Valid Tachograph calibration certification would also be beneficial, however, training would be available to attain this accreditation
• A Class 1 Driving licence would be beneficial, along with IRTE technician accreditation, however, relevant training and accreditation will be available to attain these licences

What will your role look like?

• Routine inspection and maintenance
• MOT preparation to DVSA standards
• Diagnostic investigation and repair
• Breakdown attendance, within working hours, 24/7 Customer Support rota outside working hours (additional payment)
• You will be offered the opportunity to cover some shifts on opposite shift i.e. holidays etc – this would be at the overtime rate in place

• 28 days holiday per annum, which equates to 19.5 shifts inclusive of Bank Holidays. The employer increases this entitlement to 22.5 shifts giving three extra days holiday.
