Job description
HGV Mechanic wanted for immediate start, for small, specialised workshop, focused on dedicated in house lorry repairs to keep our fleet roadworthiness.
Should have majority of own tools, although more specialised tools are provided.
Experienced individuals preferred please for this position, however lesser qualified technicians are encouraged to apply for an apprentice type roll within our organisation.
Ideally with experience in commercial repair, and with some understanding of vehicle diagnostics (though not entirely necessary as training will be given).
Possible Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Conduct inspections and perform necessary repairs on brakes, suspension, and other components
Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed
Utilize soldering and welding techniques as needed for repairs
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a service technician or in a similar role
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and repair vehicle issues
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labour as required
Welding techniques for repairs
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills to interact with team members
