HGV Workshop Controller-Worsley-Permanent Role

Salary: £23-£25 per hour (depending on experience) Overtime is available and paid at a time and a half after your shift or on Saturday between 0800 and 1200.

Shift:

• Monday to Friday
• 22:00-07:00
• 30 minute break (unpaid)

Example OTE (based on £25ph & working x2 optional Saturdays per month, 8am-12am, paid at time and a half): £62,100 per annum.

Silver Arrow are currently recruiting for an HGV Workshop Controller to work for our client based in Worsley on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leading company, with excellent working conditions and benefits.

Your Role:

• Manage and oversee the operations of the workshop.
• Coordinate and schedule work assignments for workshop staff.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of HGVs by working closely with your team. You'll be directly involved in diagnosing issues and ensuring that high standards of quality are met.
• Tackle technical challenges head-on, using your hands-on experience to guide and assist your team in finding effective solutions.
• Lead by example, demonstrating best practices, and fostering a collaborative, hands-on work environment.
• Personally inspect and test vehicles to ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed to the highest standards.

What we need from you:

• Experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop, with a track record of effective team leadership and workshop administration.
• Extensive experience in HGV maintenance and repair, with a proven ability to perform complex mechanical tasks.
• hands-on leader who can inspire and guide a team of technicians.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• A genuine interest in HGVs and a commitment to keeping them running smoothly.
• Level 3 City and Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification (desirable).
• Full Clean Driving Licence (HGV 1 licence desirable).
