Job Vacancy: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Prospero Teaching are seeking a friendly and confident HLTA to join our client Primary School based in Portsmouth (PO2). Within this role you will be working across all year groups from Pre-School to Year 6. Applicants should be an experienced HLTA or LSA/TA willing to undertake HLTA qualification.

- Minimum rate of pay - �15 per hour
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children's learning and development
- Experience with interaction and communication needs
- Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents
- Confident in covering PPA across the school, including Pre-School
- Flexible in covering classes last minute due to staff absence
- Ability to plan support for individual children's needs
- Independent, proactive, and initiative-driven
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes in the teacher's absence
- Use specialist skills to support pupils
- Work unsupervised during PPA cover and fulfil reasonable requests from teaching staff/SLT
- Assist in creating a suitable learning environment
- Evaluate and record pupils' responses through observations
- Implement curriculum programmes at the whole class level
- Manage pupil behaviour and assess progress independently
- Apply school, national, and statutory policies in the workplace
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
