Vision for Education are working with a vibrant mainstream school in the heart of Rochester to recruit an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start from September 2024.

This school is motivated by the growth and development of their pupils and believe that each child has the potential to greatness, with the right support and guidance.  Each pupil is encouraged to develop their independence, whilst becoming a good-mannered citizen.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you must be resilient and both a team player and self-reliant.  You will be supporting the pupils with the best educational experience, as well as encouraging curiosity and creativity.

This school strive to continue to create a safe and happy environment for each pupil, as well as developing engaging learning opportunities and experiences.  A successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will play a key part in supporting those pupils who need the extra support to achieve their very best.

Your duties will include:


  • Encourage pupils to express themselves in a safe environment.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the school community.
  • Involved in the classroom planning and preparation.
  • In Teacher absence, you will be expected to deliver the planned classroom curriculum.

A successful candidate will:


  • HLTA qualifications is desirable but not essential if you can evidence knowledge and experience of leading a classroom.
  • A positive approach, with excellent communication skills.


  • Experience of working with primary school aged children.
  • Experience of managing behaviours which challenge.
  • A passion for the progress of primary school pupils.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
