Are you an experienced and highly skilled Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity to take on more responsibility and make a significant impact on student learning?

We have a three form entry Primary in Thornton Cleveley's seeking a motivated and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your expertise and contribute to raising standards across the school. This role is temporary term time, working hours offer 3-5 days work per week between Monday - Friday 8:30-3:30. Pay is �15-�16 per hour.

About the Role:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers to support the learning and development of our students. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering, and evaluating learning activities for individuals, small groups, and occasionally whole classes, under the direction of the teacher.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support plans.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to pupil progress reviews.
  • Leading specific learning activities or interventions, adapting resources and strategies to meet diverse needs.
  • Covering classes for short periods in the absence of the teacher (PPA cover, training, etc.).
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Providing guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants.
  • Liaising with parents and carers under the direction of the teacher.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school.

About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 or 4 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Has significant experience working in a school setting.
  • Possesses HLTA status (or is willing to work towards it).
  • Has a strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Is confident in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Is proactive, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Has strong assessment and record-keeping skills.
  • Is committed to their own professional development.
  • Is passionate about supporting student progress and well-being.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
