History Teacher – Secondary School Near Andover
Start Date: ASAP – Contract Until at Least Easter 2025 (Potential Extension Until July 2025)
Pay: £160 - £238 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate and dedicated History teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic department? We are currently seeking a History Teacher to join a secondary school near Andover on a long-term contract, starting immediately and running until at least Easter 2025, with the potential to extend until July 2025. This role will involve teaching History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring students to explore the past while developing critical thinking and analytical skills.

About the Role:
As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons to students at both KS3 and KS4. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative department, working with experienced colleagues who are committed to both student success and professional development. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ academic progress, helping them develop a strong understanding of historical events, themes, and skills that will serve them throughout their education. The role is suitable for an experienced History teacher and an ECT for History looking for a long term contract in a supportive Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging History lessons for KS3 and KS4 students.
• Ensure lessons are aligned with the national curriculum and help students prepare for their GCSE exams.
• Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that fosters students’ love of History.
• Provide constructive feedback and monitor students’ progress, supporting their development throughout the year.
• Work collaboratively with the History department and other colleagues to share best practices.
• Contribute to the wider school community and ethos through extracurricular activities or departmental initiatives.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
• A passion for History and for helping students understand its relevance in today’s world.
