Simply Education is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive school, with a flexible start date for the right candidate. Role Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable History Teacher who can inspire and engage students in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality history lessons, fostering critical thinking, and deepening students' understanding of historical events and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging history lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive history curriculum that aligns with national standards and school objectives.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation, inquiry, and a passion for history.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, trips, and events that enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the history department.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
  • Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Desired Experience

  • Proven experience teaching history at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the history curriculum and current educational best practices.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Experience in organizing and leading extracurricular activities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and deliver exciting, engaging lessons using diverse methods.
  • Passionate about education and genuinely dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to work within a friendly and collaborative team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
