We are recruiting qualified individuals with this skill set to support various schools in the Lytham, FY8 area from January 2025. A HLTA's role is to complement teachers' professional work by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil's achievement, progress and development.Our schools require a HLTA to lead the class covering a variety of PPA time, teacher absence, and TA support in an intervention or 1:1 form. Rates for this role on adhoc basis start at £15-17 per hour based on experience, long term roles will be paid to scale and will include wider responsibilities and long term commitment.

HLTA opportunities available are short term (6 weeks) and long term (12 weeks +) on a part time and full time basis offering 3-5 days work per week. All contracts are temporary.

This role compromises a variety of responsibilities and opportunities to develop or demonstrate your skill set.

Responsibilities:


  • Preparation or collaboration of lesson resources with the Teacher.
  • Cover the class and deliver planned work in the Teacher's absence (PPA time/ teacher absence etc).
  • Maintain a controlled and safe environment in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to organise appropriate activities.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
  • Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis such as intervention or development.
  • Prepare and develop class displays.

Essential requirements:


  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Previous HLTA and class leadership experience.
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • HLTA qualified - L3/4 upwards.
