Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Salary: Dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: Immediate/ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Do you have the skills and dedication to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners? We are looking for a motivated and compassionate HLTA to join our team at a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school on the Wirral.

About the Role:

As an HLTA, you will work closely with the teaching team to provide high-quality support to children with a range of learning, emotional, and physical needs. You will play a key role in supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop their confidence and skills. Your role will also involve:

  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of tailored lessons and activities.
  • Supporting students in their personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to monitor student progress and implement strategies to promote achievement.
  • Supporting students with various learning disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, and dedicated to supporting students with SEN. You will need to have:

  • A recognised HLTA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young learners.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the individual needs of the students.
