The Tabernacle W11 Ltd are currently looking for a Duty Manager for a vibrant Arts Venue based in Notting Hill. Our venue is at the heart of its community and is the perfect setting for all kind of events, from Weddings, Conferences, Live Music, Comedy Shows, Theatre Plays, Private Parties, Team Away-Days, Workshops, etc Adele, Russell Brand, James Blunt, Emily Sande are but a few names we have had the pleasure of hosting in our Theatre space over the years.
The Venue also host a large Dance studio, a Meeting room and a Music Room for hire, allowing us to offer a range of classes, from ballet, yoga, fitness, music rehearsal and much more.
The Venues bar & restaurant is open throughout the week to the public. It is at the centre of our daily operation, and your main duty will be to oversee the bar & restaurant smooth running.
The ideal candidate would have a strong and diverse Duty Manager experience, with an emphasis on restauration, and the ability to deliver a high standard of service.
We are looking for an outgoing individual with a great attitude towards their work and a passion for satisfying their guests.
The individual must also have a great attention to detail and be standards driven. They must be able to organise their time and communicate effectively with both Clients and Staff, to deliver the best possible service.
Your daily tasks and duties will include:
Being a key holder and being responsible for the security of the building when opening and locking up.
Opening or close the building in accordance with the set procedure, as required.
To carry out a full fire safety check of the entire building at the start of each shift and immediately action any areas of concern.
Working with the General Manager to ensure the building complies with all health and safety and licensing policies.
To take a lead role in the managing of incidents and emergencies whilst on duty.
To undertake all regular duties as dictated by the need of the business.
To oversee the Bar operations, cleanliness of all front and back of house areas and follow the cashing up process, as well as allocating and recording petty cash for the restaurant and kitchen consumables.
To ensure the garden, restaurant, Theatre, rooms for hire and toilets are presentable and welcoming at all times, and set-up safely, according to the GM and Events Manager.
To liaise with the Head chef and Hirer and ensure the smooth running of the bar and restaurant operations when on duty.
To monitor staff attendance and report to the GM any staffing issues.
To support the Staff in delivering outstanding customer service.
To confidently supervise all Front of House staff on a day to day basis, including managing breaks and motivating staff.
To take responsibility for the calm and efficient evacuation of the entire venue in the event of an emergency if required.
To actively support Technical and Hirer to ensure all performance spaces are presentable and safe and are maintained pre and post show.
To support the GM and staff in any tasks or events.
You will be collaborating with a small team of enthusiastic individuals, and two other Duty Managers on a 5 shifts pattern, Monday to Sunday. The shift pattern will be influenced by Events, and mainly the Bar & Restaurants requirements.
