Job title: Chef de Partie

Salary: From 28,000 GBP

Charge for accommodation: 64 GBP per week

Workplace description: Set in a rural location, just off junction 14 of the M5, the hotel is perfect for visiting Bristol and exploring the Cotswold countryside. The 46 ensuite bedrooms are furnished to a high standard. The restaurant menu features the best of local, seasonal produce, whilst the adjacent bar with its big sofas and secluded corners is the place to enjoy a morning coffee, bar snack or afternoon tea.

Main duties and responsibilities: Assists and supports the head chef in food preparation

Prepares the starters as well as the vegetables

Coordinates banqueting events alongside the banquet manager

Provides support to the restaurants sales and marketing team

Is involved in the training of lower cadre staff

Helps with menu planning

Oversees breakfast preparation and service

Meal preparation

Oversees food preparation, cooking and presentation in the restaurant

Enforces safety, health and hygiene standards in the kitchen

Troubleshoots any problems that may arise in the kitchen

Ensures that food goes to the customers in a timely manner

Manages and supervises the commis chefs that work under them

Essential criteria: Must have the willingness and desire to learn. NVQs or equivalent would be advantageous, as well as experience of at least a demi Chef de Partie (or above) in a similar standard establishment
