Live-in Housekeeper / Cook
A Birmingham based family is seeking a live-in housekeeper and cook to be based at the family home in Edgbaston. Looking after a family of 5, you will be responsible for general housekeeping, cooking and meal preparation as well as other housekeeping responsibilities.
Fully furnished accommodation can be provided, all reasonable utility bills will be paid for. Food, TV and Wifi access will also be provided.
This is a permanent position with hours of work from 7am – 11am and 4pm – 8pm on the days of work.
The duties of this role include but are not limited to:
Housekeeping:
* All laundry, including washing and ironing
* Performing a variety of cleaning and general housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of floors
* Dusting and polishing
* Ensuring all rooms are clean and well maintained
* Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
* Notifying the family of any necessary repairs
* Collecting and disposing of rubbish
* Assisting guests when necessary
Cooking
* Meal preparation for halal only dietary requirement
* Preparation and cooking of lunch and dinner
* Manage shopping lists and food orders
* Mainly serving the family of 5 but occasionally preparing meals for up to 15 people
* Setting the table and support with serving or dining room set up
Requirements
* Previous experience of housekeeping and cooking in a private, family environment
* Experience of halal only cooking and food preparation, ideally well versed in Indian and South Asian cuisine
* Ability to manage your time efficiently
* Work well unsupervised
* Maintain high levels of discretion
* Would prefer if the candidate can drive or possess own car but not a necessity
* Spoken language required – English
The successful candidate may be required to travel on holiday with employer
