Housing Access Officer

About the Role
As part of the Market Management Service, you will work within the Housing Access Team, ensuring effective PRS interventions and initiatives, including emergency and temporary accommodation. You will be responsible for coordinating PRS access, preventing and relieving homelessness, and reducing reliance on TA placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate TA and PRS housing in line with statutory homelessness regulations.
- Manage the Housing Access Register to facilitate smooth housing allocations.
- Provide accurate housing, welfare, and homelessness advice to applicants.
- Ensure all properties meet compliance and safety standards.
- Work closely with landlords, housing providers, and internal teams to secure suitable housing.
- Maintain accurate records and casework on housing systems.
- Coordinate housing access activities to prevent homelessness and support move-on strategies.
- Oversee tenancy setups, Right to Rent checks, and property allocations.
- Assist with void management and re-let processes to maximise housing availability.
About You
- Experience in housing, homelessness services, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of statutory homelessness frameworks and PRS housing regulations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage casework efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with landlords, PRS providers, and local authority housing teams is desirable.
