Manager for Housing Standards3-month interim contract (in the first instance) North East of England £50-60 per hour DOEInside IR35 (via umbrella)Remote/ Hybrid workingReporting to the Assistant Director of Housing & Renewal, you will be in charge of overseeing the Council's Housing Standards services. This includes managing Clearance, Home Improvements, Empty Properties, Selective Licensing, HMOs, Enforcement, and Healthy Homes services. Your responsibilities will involve ensuring the successful implementation, monitoring, and timely delivery of private-sector housing programs within the available budget. You will also be responsible for driving ongoing improvements in housing standards.Your Role as Housing Standards Manager:• Responsible for programme management including setting targets, forecasting, and monitoring delivery of outcomes and programme budgets, including the Housing Capital programme contributing to efficiencies and savings• Monitor and interpret changes in both housing and regeneration policy and legislation to ensure compliance with statutory duties and their application to Housing Standards• Hold overall responsibility for leading, motivating, managing, and directing the development and delivery of the Housing Standards services.• Innovate, develop and implement strategic projects associated with improving housing conditions, and utilising the stock in line with the Council’s Housing Strategy• Identification of strategic priorities and opportunities for housing standards and prepare and submit funding bids to government agencies to provide financial resourcesYour previous experience as Housing Standards Manager:• In-depth experience at a managerial level in both operational functions and strategic service needs• Accountable for operational management and an ability to lead several diverse teams and produce service plans for services such as Selective Licensing• Employ an expert professional technical and theoretical understanding of housing standards services and advice to customers, staff and Members within specialist areas of housing enforcement• Essential to have appropriate housing, environmental health, or building qualification• Experience in and ability to prepare detailed specifications of work for large projects and lead tendering procedures for housing regeneration projects in a Local Authority settingIf you’re interested in discussing this opportunity in more detail or know someone to who this may be of interest to, please contact Tom Pugh or Vic Singh on ##### ##### or apply today.(We offer a senior referral scheme upon successful placement of your recommendation so please do get in contact)Our clients are passionate about creating and evolving a diverse workforce and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant.
