Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Pay Rate: �14 per hour


About Us: We are dedicated to providing vital support to individuals experiencing homelessness in Bristol. Our mission is to empower residents by offering comprehensive housing support, fostering independence, and promoting a positive transition to stable housing.


Role Overview: As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality support services to our residents. You will work closely with individuals to develop personalised support plans, addressing their unique needs and facilitating their journey towards independent living. This includes assisting people with managing their tenancy and other life admin tasks, such as GP appointments and benefits, to support them towards future independence. The work will be conducted across three locations within Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough needs assessments and create tailored support plans in collaboration with residents.
  • Case Management: Provide ongoing case management, ensuring residents receive appropriate support and referrals to external services.
  • Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of residents to access housing, healthcare, employment, and other essential services.
  • Life Skills Training: Facilitate workshops and one-on-one sessions to enhance residents' life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and tenancy management.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention during crises, working to de-escalate situations and ensure residents' safety.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar service or setting.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Ability to do waking nights.
  • Strong use of initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Enhanced DBS required (being on the update service is highly advantageous).

Preferences:

  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Confidence in conflict management.
  • Experience in tenancy support.
  • Familiarity with complex mental health issues, homelessness, substance misuse, and alcohol dependency.
  • Relevant experience in similar roles.
