About the role:

You will be reporting to the Head of People & Culture, with the day-to-day operational responsibility for the People & Culture service and team. As the senior point of contact, you will use your expertise to support complex casework, drive service development, and provide consistent employment law and best practise guidance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery: Manage the People & Culture Team, oversee performance, and translate strategic aims into effective actions. Provide expert advice on complex people matters and maintain strong relationships with management teams.
  • Projects: Lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage key projects in workforce planning, resourcing, talent management, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Management Information: Utilise people data and analytics to drive continuous improvement and ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Engagement, Development and Retention: Improve recruitment processes, develop wellbeing initiatives, and support pay and reward strategy.
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across the hospice.
  • Self-Development: Stay updated with current legislation and best practises and build strong relations with stakeholders.

This role is full-time permanent, working 37.5 hours (5 days) per week.

About you:

You will hold a CIPD qualification or have equivalent experience, with a preference for an MCIPD qualification. You bring proven experience in operational people management, particularly in complex organisational settings like charitable or healthcare environments. Your expertise in employment legislation, combined with excellent IT, communication, and presentation skills, makes you adept at handling complex employee relations issues. You are committed, motivated, and passionate about People & Culture, with personal resilience and the ability to simplify complex problems and deliver practical solutions.
