Claxton are looking to source a HSE Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the HSE Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of Health & Safety and Environmental strategy for the business. This role is to ensure a safe, healthy work environment, compliant with relevant industry standards and safety legislation, ISO 45001 and 14001 requirements and Acteon key result areas for HSE.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of robust HSE plans, interface plans and bridging documents.
- Maintain a record of proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
- Ensure that workplace tools, equipment, process, and procedure meet industry standards as defined by the relevant Health and Safety Laws and Regulations.
- Oversee the capture and timely effective closure of HSE observations and investigations.
- Responsible for local emergency response and major incident planning.
- HSE focal point for internal and external audits and custodian of the local HSE audit program..
- Lead the development and roll out of sustainability and improvement initiatives using relevant HSE tools, in collaboration with other managers and staff members.
- Chair monthly staff QHSE meetings and ensure actions are reviewed and communicated effectively.
- Collaborate with other Acteon HSE role holders to promote best practice.
- Set up and regularly monitor goals and objectives, including end of year reviews for direct reports.
- Hold monthly 1:1s with each team member manage performance.
- Actively promote the Claxton Brand Values.
- Manage recruitment and interview process to fulfil personnel requirements, including contractor management.
- Manage HSE team annual leave/lieu days to ensure adequate breaks are taken.
- Day to day management of HSE team at the site, responsible for the tactical execution of HSE.
- People development and driving the growth of skills and knowledge within the HSE team.
Required
- Degree educated or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent.
- ISO 45001 & 14001 Auditor qualifications.
- Oil and gas industry standards & regulations and safety related requirements.
- UK HSE legislation.
- ISO compliant integrated management systems.
- Sustainability, life cycle perspective and carbon emissions factors.
- Risk management strategy, development, and implementation.
- Accident/ hazard investigation and analysis, to drive improvements.
- Behavioural safety programmes and human factors.
- Best practices in occupational health mental health and wellbeing.
- Writing policies and procedures and their implementation.
- Development and delivery of HSE Training.
- HSE improvement planning.
- Computer literate on Microsoft Office packages.
- Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Advocate for change and can influence others to deliver change initiatives.
