The role will lead the site's environmental and health and safety management system, ensuring a safe and environmentally sustainable working environment for all employees and the surrounding community.

You will be the driver of EHS continuous improvement to maintain industry leadership.

Description

  • Engage with colleagues all levels to promote a highly engaged EHS culture across site through behavioural observations, coaching, analysis, communication, and engagement with all relevant parties.

  • Coach, advise and support all staff to ensure safe systems of work are robust and maintained.

  • Ensure effective communication takes place through all channels to maintain awareness of EHS issues through regular meetings, briefings, information and through consultation at the site EHS forums

  • Develop, implement and maintain the relevant management systems which support the recognised EHS certifications and other standards in conjunction with the Head of EHS. For example, (ISO14001/45001/MCerts etc.)

  • Lead subject specific projects, including multi-discipline team members at site or across multiple group sites, applying knowledge, experience and all aspects of your duties as directed by the Head of EHS

Profile

Minimum 3 years' experience working at EHS Manager level

Minimum 5 years' experience working within EHS in a manufacturing environment

Working Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001/14001 management system standards, compliance, and auditing techniques

NEBOSH Level 3 National General Certificate Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent

IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent or commitment to achieving

Preffered:

  • Food Manufacturing
  • Experience with PUWER & DESEAR assessments and management
  • Experience working with are services -Steam, Water, Gas & air -understanding risks and compliance regulations
  • Experience in writing H & safety documentation eg Risk assessments, and coaching at Operator level
  • Experience with Behavioural safety programme delivery
  • Capital Project Health & Safety experience
  • Up to date with current health, safety and environment regulations/legislations
  • Operating with Engineering teams focusing on safe installation/maintenance of equipment and overseeing external contractors
  • Capable & experienced in conducting in-house training sessions on health and safety awareness
  • Tracking incident metrics and applying findings using RCA methodology
