This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to take on a standalone role within a busy, fast-paced startup environment. This individual will need to be organised, responsible and diligent in order to meet the demands of being the go-to internal figure for not only HR, but ad-hoc office management and marketing support. They will also need to have a positive, self-starter attitude, able to keep the HR function running smoothly and integrate into the team of friendly, hard-working individuals. This is perfect for someone looking to take on more responsibility, and will be able to tackle new and varied tasks which arise.
Job Responsibilities
- End-to-end management of the employee experience: onboarding, organising training and development activities, and offboarding;
- Managing our performance management process and any employee relations, disciplinary, or grievance affairs which arise;
- Manage company benefits and liaise with providers;
- Manage our HRIS system, SageHR, keeping this up-to-date with employee information and documents;
- Expenses management, and supporting external accountants with payroll;
- Keeping company policies and procedures compliant with developments to UK employment law;
- Contract, internal communications, and letter generation;
- Support on ad-hoc tasks such as recruitment, engagement surveys etc;
- Support with company marketing and general office management (liaising with building management, ordering supplies, working with external IT provider);
- Be the first point of contact for signposting and taking HR-related requests from employees.
Experience and expectations
Required:
- 2-4 years of hands-on, people-focused HR experience within a similar role;
- CIPD L3 (or working towards);
- Sound understanding of UK employment law;
- Confident working in a standalone position;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- HRIS experience - SageHR or similar;
- Confident using Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat;
- Experience within a recruitment, professional services or otherwise high-performance environment.
