Handley James have been retained to source a HR Assistant / Administrator to join their business based in Bedford. This is a part time position (20 – 30 hours per week) and can be flexible around you, with days/times to suit etc.

Our client is an industry leading expert, part of a £multimillion, business with sites worldwide. You will be responsible for the daily administrative and HR duties of the UK organisation, supporting the HR Manager with Regional activities. You will also assist with payroll, recruitment and record maintenance as well as provide support to the wider teams.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining personal records and upkeep of HR Database (Starters, leavers and changes)
Administration and support for Recruitment and Onboarding activities. (e.g. liaising with agencies, sorting CV’s, arranging and attending interviews, arranging and facilitating inductions etc.)
Generation, distribution and collation of Offer letters and contracts, new starters and payroll information.
Obtaining right to work documentation and supporting with sponsorship where appropriate.
Payroll administration, including liaising with managers, checking and input of payroll data
Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc) providing reports as and when required.
General HR and Administrative tasks as required
Support communication and employer branding activities
Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
Coordinate and at times assist with informal / formal meetings, including note taking.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in HR Administration or HR Assistant or related roles.
Working knowledge of HR Functions and best practice
Basic knowledge of employment law and human resource responsibilities
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
Basic understanding of payroll practices
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Knowledge of computer applications and HR specific software programmes with SAP is an advantage
Excellent computer skills (MS Office, in particular)
Excellent organisational skills
CIPD level 3 or working towards appropriate qualifications.
This role is a permanent position based at the site in Bedford (With some hybrid working available), a part time position with flexibility around the successful candidate (Flexible with hours of work and days in the week) 20 – 30 hours per week.
In return you will receive a salary of £28,000pa (Pro rata depending on hours requested), benefits and bonus.
