Special School Teacher - Lower School, Godalming, Surrey
Immediate Start - Until the End of the Academic Year
Monarch Education is currently seeking an experienced Teacher to join a Special School in Godalming, Surrey, to teach Lower School students. This role is available for an immediate start and will run until the end of the current academic year.
\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Humanities through a topic-based curriculum to three different groups of students, each with different learning needs. The groups will include:
\nA mixed Year 3/4 group, working at early KS1 level.
\nTwo mixed Year 4/5/6 groups, working at KS2 level.
\nYou will be expected to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons while adapting your teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the students. There is a long-term and medium-term plan in place for the remainder of this term, but you will be expected to take responsibility for planning next term, with PPA time allocated.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nTeach Humanities through a topic-based curriculum to three groups with varying levels of ability.
\nWork with the Year 3/4 group (early KS1 level) and two other groups at KS2 level, adapting teaching methods to suit the needs of each group.
\nPlan lessons for the upcoming term, with the support of existing long-term and medium-term plans.
\nLead Phonics sessions for a designated group, following the Little Wandle scheme.
\nSupport a group during morning tutor times, focusing on academic and social development.
\nProvide general cover for other areas of the curriculum as needed.
\nEnsure the wellbeing and progress of students through consistent support, communication, and assessment.
\nRequirements:
\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
\nExperience teaching students with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
\nStrong knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curricula and the ability to adapt lessons for a diverse range of abilities.
\nAbility to plan and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to individual learning needs.
\nA commitment to providing support and encouragement to students, ensuring their academic and emotional development.
\nExperience with phonics teaching or a willingness to deliver sessions using the Little Wandle scheme.
\nAbility to work well within a team and liaise with staff, parents, and carers effectively.
