Role: HV Contracts Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + £1000 bonus

Location: Remote (Occasional site visits)

Due to rapid growth and exciting plans within the HV team, they are pleased to introduce the role of HV Contracts Manager. You will join a large team of electricians providing preventative and corrective site maintenance across our O&M portfolio. This role involves supporting technicians working on HV networks remotely, regular site visits for training, QA, and operational tasks, and building and maintaining client relationships. You will ensure high levels of health and safety, keep documentation up to date, and support all HV requirements of the company. Additionally, you will manage HV partner framework operations, including scheduling PM, tracking work, and ensuring timely and standards-compliant reporting.

Responsibilities:


  • General management of day-to-day operations
  • Management of HV contractors, including SSE and HVPS
  • Management of contractors for HVPM
  • HV maintenance tracker manager for your designated region
  • Control engineer duties and field team support.
  • Management of O&M corrective projects involving contractors
  • Supporting the HV lead with AP training as required.
  • Negotiating new HV contracts and terms for corrective work
  • Developing and maintaining contractor relationships
  • RAMS authorization alongside HV admin
  • Client engagement on HV points
  • Supporting the recruitment process of HV team members
  • Training and support for new starters in the HV team
  • Corrective work project management
  • AP training and authorization
  • HV project teamwork
  • Contribution to the HV business plan where work is done in-house.
  • Recognize issues and assess risks.
  • Keep up to date with industry standards and technology, reporting findings to management.
  • Participate in internal and external training.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Recommend improvements and modifications.
  • Investigate complaints and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders, including the public.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as requested.

Key Skills:


  • Must hold 18th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification.
  • Senior Authorised Person or Approved Authorised Person authorization in another position.
  • Preferably degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or HNC qualified
  • 5+ years of experience working with high voltage equipment.
  • Demonstrate relevant knowledge of HV & LV distribution systems.
  • Experience with central inverter manufacturers is preferable but not essential.
  • Worked on large-scale solar projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulation Standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DC Electrical systems
  • Ability to understand site drawings and SLDs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain strong client relationships.
