We are working with schools and local authorities in Cumbria, seeking tutors for Maths, English, and Science.

Role: Hybrid Tutor

Subjects:

  • Primary: Numeracy and Literacy
  • Secondary: English, Mathematics, and Science

Start Date: September 2024
End Date: N/A
Online Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour
Face-To-Face Pay Rate: £25.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create customised lesson plans
  • Track student progress and document achievements
  • Conduct interactive sessions tailored to various learning needs
  • Aim for measurable outcomes in each session
  • Collaborate with educational professionals for student support
  • Follow KCSIE and safeguarding protocols

Desired Experience:

  • Previous tutoring experience
  • Open to feedback and supervision
  • Familiar with inclusion units, special education, or alternative provisions
  • Experience with SEN students, disengaged youth, or looked-after children

Your Role:

  • Show subject expertise and tailor lessons
  • Track and document student progress
  • Assist with assignments, test prep, and research
  • Help students understand classroom concepts
  • Support student development and learning
  • Foster a growth mindset
  • Work with schools, foster carers, and social workers
  • Follow KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines

Essential Qualities:

  • Inspiring and adaptable communication skills
  • Good IT skills with access to a computer, audio, and video
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with students
