This company has built its team with engineers with diverse experiences in Americas Cup racing, Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Industrial Engineering, Formula 1, Motorsport, and Marine industries, valuing expertise outside the Marine industry to accelerate progress and innovation.As a Hydraulic Systems Engineer, you will work alongside the Lead Hydraulics Engineer and be instrumental in the design, validation, and testing of hydraulic systems for a range of state-of-the-art projects aimed at decarbonizing the marine industry.Responsibilities:Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of engineers to develop systems for commercial, leisure, and shipping sectors of the Marine Industry.Design and specify hydraulic systems, including producing schematics, 3D modelling, and manufacturing drawings of manifolds and other components.Produce documentation and calculations to support designs.Model hydraulic systems with Simcenter AMEsim for validation.Develop and test hydraulic systems.Select and manage suppliers.Provide commissioning and technical support for vessels.Requirements:Higher education within a Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or related field.NFPC (or equivalent) Hydraulics Training (can be provided for a suitable candidate).Strong understanding of Industrial and Mobile hydraulic systems and components.Understanding of Mechanical systems.Experience with CAD design, preferably Siemens NX.Experience in creating hydraulic schematics.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to work safely and effectively with hands-on tasks.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional team members.Willingness to travel.Bonus Skills:Experience with Simcenter AMEsim simulation software.Knowledge of the marine industry, classification societies, and electrical systems or PLC systems.EPlan ECAD experience.Why Join Us:Be part of a forward-thinking organization at the forefront of decarbonizing the marine industry.Work in a small team where your contributions have a direct impact on project success.Collaborate with a group of passionate engineers and industry experts in a supportive and innovative work environment.Enjoy opportunities for professional growth and advancement as the company expands its portfolio of ground-breaking projects.Work in one of Portsmouth’s best offices.Enjoy a flexible working day which can allow for midday sport/fitness activities.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including:25 days holidayCompany PensionPrivate Medical InsuranceLife assuranceElectric Car and pension salary sacrifice schemesCycle to work schemeSocial events throughout the yearIf you are excited about revolutionizing the marine industry through the development of advanced hydraulic systems, we want to hear from you!
