Alexander Steele are delighted to continue working with a global food manufacturer who supply a vast range of quality, delicious food products in to UK retailers, Food Service outlets and B2B! Our client is looking for a Hygiene Supervisor to join their team at their large manufacturing facility in London.



On offer:

• Salary is £33,000 - £35,000 

• Company pension

• 25 days holiday + bank holidays

• Working Monday - Friday days



The role and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Hygiene Manager, the role of Hygiene Supervisor is to supervise with the provision of the hygiene service in order to support the business in the delivery of the highest quality, hygiene and environmental standards, whilst ensuring that budgets targets and service requirements are met in a safe and healthy environment.

Key accountabilities;

• Supervise hygiene operatives in accordance with hygiene plans to ensure optimal performance.

• Manage daily operations, including monitoring daily agency hours and approvals.

• Oversee external contractors to ensure that cost and performance targets are achieved.

• Promote continuous improvement of hygiene standards throughout the site.

• Perform any additional duties, projects, procedures, or responsibilities as required by the company, the hygiene manager, or immediate supervisor.

• Manage the daily pest control program.

• Oversee the planning and execution of customer audits/visits, whether announced or unannounced, and ensure the team understands their responsibilities.

• Supervise the development and training of all site hygiene activities with the Hygiene and  Team Members to maximize their potential, flexibility, and overall skill levels across the facility

• Ensure daily cleaning documentation is maintained, including areas within production zones.

• Conduct hygiene audits during production shut-downs in collaboration with the operations team.



Experience and skills required:

• Experience within a supervisory / team leader position in Hygiene within a food manufacturing environment

• Good understanding & able to demonstrate people management skill.

• The skills and sensitivity to effectively manage a multi-racial work force.

• Good understanding of health and safety requirements including the ability to understand and use of cleaning work instructions, procedures and safe systems of work

• Ability to handle chemicals and understand COSHH requirements .

• Flexibility/adaptability e.g needs to be hands on when required and flexible in approach to work to meet demands

• An ability to effectively prioritise a demanding workload to ensure that all KPIs are achieved.

• Effective communication skill both verbal, written and leadership skills
