Job Description

Rightnow Group are currently working with a large global forwarder based in Hayes seeking an Export/Import Team Leader to support their Perishable division.

The sucssesful candidate will have previous leadership experience within Freight with a strong understanding of Perishable goods.

Location: Hayes
Salary:
£38,000 - £45,000
Hours: Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end movement of perishable products, managing shipments and liaising with carriers, handling agents, transport, and warehouse teams to resolve exceptions.
  • \n
  • Build and expand relationships within the Perishable Customer Portfolio, participating in customer calls and meetings to align services with their needs.
  • \n
  • Ensure adherence to customs compliance and documentation standards, including managing customs entries for specialist licenses and handling any retrospective compliance requirements.
  • \n
  • Create, track, and update shipments,
  • \n
  • Ensure job files are complete with accurate information
  • \n
  • Manage allocated customers according to SOPs, identify value-adding opportunities, and promptly update the internal complaints system with root cause analyses and solutions.

  • Implement Active Leadership practices to engage and develop team members, leading weekly briefings and driving a collaborative culture
  • \n
  • Work directly with the UK Perishables Manager and sales team during client meetings to foster relationships and explore growth opportunities.

  • Complete all statutory and mandatory training requirements, ensuring team compliance with relevant procedures and documentation standards.
  • \n
  • Perform any other duties required to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Experience in exports/imports in addition to exposure to perishable goods logistics.
  • \n
  • Understanding of HMRC procedures and familiarity with CDS is advantageous.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to meet customer needs professionally and maintain high standards in customer service.
  • \n
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive teams toward achieving KPIs and operational goals.
  • \n
  • Experience using Cargowise would be beneficial however not essential
  • \n

We will need to be able to complete Pre-employment checks. This will include a 5 year checkable employment / education history, DBS check (criminal record check).
