In-House Lawyer - Project Finance (4-8 PQE) - Central London

Noble Legal are partnered with a fantastic leading financial institution who are looking for a project finance lawyer to join their driven team. Their key objective is to tackle significant global development challenges by deploying flexible capital to stimulate growth and innovation within the private sector. In the last five years, the company have allocated £7 billion towards new investments, increasing net assets to around £8.1 billion. Current investments encompass 1,400 businesses, directly employing over 950,000 individuals and benefiting many others. The ideal candidate will: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commercial mindset, consistently seeking solutions. Possess the ability to assess risks and make well-reasoned, independent, and transparent decisions under tight deadlines. Effectively communicate legal issues and risks to investment professionals, offering suitable courses of action and resolving challenges. Be a self-starter capable of working independently, even without the usual support found in larger companies or law firms. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, adept at collaborating across diverse cultures, with occasional travel. Some Key Duties: Offering guidance on all phases of debt investments, from structuring and negotiation to execution and portfolio oversight. Collaborating with investment teams to ensure transactions progress efficiently and legal risks are properly identified and managed. Overseeing comprehensive aspects of transactions (such as tax matters, environmental and social concerns, and business integrity issues) to ensure all necessary inputs are obtained and the company's core requirements, including its Responsible Investing Policy, are met. Technical Expertise: Experienced project finance lawyer (c.4-8pqe), with post-qualification experience either in an international law firm or within the legal department of an international or development finance institution. Must have recent experience collaborating with international lenders involved in project finance ventures across developing markets, including sub-Saharan Africa and, ideally, India. Strong comprehension of the risk thresholds and expectations of these international lenders, particularly in single off-taker jurisdictions. Essential ability to review, negotiate, and prepare standard finance documents under English or New York law (including LMA and, where feasible, DFI standards). Preference for familiarity with environmental, social, and anti-corruption policies.
