Job Title: In- Service Electronics EngineerSalary:
up to £55,500 per annum dependent upon experienceLocation: PortsmouthWe currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an In- Service Electronics Engineer. The role will be based in Portsmouth but offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours. You will need to be on site 3 days per week.They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.You will be joining the Underwater Weapons team and will be responsible for the electronic aspects of torpedo design, repair, and maintenance. The role will provide you with the opportunity to work on various complex development projects. You will see various stages of the lifecycle and contribute through these phases.Main Responsibilities: Design and development of electronic assemblies, from specification through to release into serviceMaintenance of existing designs and implementation of technology insertion programmesAbility to support off site trials activitiesSupport the testing of high voltage alternators using bespoke test equipmentConduct testing on board customer platformsTranslation of requirements into design detailComponent selection, schematic capture, and support to PCB layoutSpecification of bespoke procured itemsInterfacing with related disciplines including mechanical/thermal engineering, ILS, Safety, and ProductionAble to follow the engineering lifecycle and undertake progress, peer and design reviewsDesign, develop and demonstrate system integrationsAnalysis of fibre optic systems using power meters and OTDRsBenefits:Enhanced Pension scheme- up to 14% combinedFlexible working pattern including working from home/ flexible start and finish times25 holiday days plus bank holidays- 26 days after 5 years’ service/ 27 days after 10 years’ serviceShared Incentive PlanEmployee Assistance ProgrammeCycle to Work SchemeLife Assurance (you and your spouse/ partner)- 6 x salaryIll Health Income Protection/ Private Medical Insurance- 50% of salaryAbout You:The role holder will have a degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject, and have experience in one or more of the following areas:Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environmentExperience of generating component level designs for introduction into volume production using computer-aided engineeringDemonstrable expertise in analogue circuit analysisSound understanding of basic analogue signal processing techniques such as active filteringUnderstanding of good power supply discipline and decouplingExperience of analogue to digital and digital to analogue conversionIntegration, design proving and defect resolutionDesirableExperience in, Fibre Optics, Power electronics, Test and measurement techniques would be advantageousAbility to work with a PCB designer and advise on circuit layout for EMCCEng or equivalent level of capability or working towards CEng statusYou must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 yearsAbout Aeropeople:Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team…Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
