Infrastructure/VMware Engineer - Guildford - £50,000 - Hybrid WorkingRole: Infrastructure/VMware EngineerLocation: GuildfordSalary: £50,000I am working on an exciting new opportunity with my client.We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join an MSP based in the Guildford area, responsible for managing and maintaining their Virtualisation Platforms, systems, data centres and network infrastructures. Key responsibilities: • Provide technical leadership in developing the VMware, ProxMox Platforms and associated virtual technologies
• Take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance of the virtual platform and related datacentre hardware, including servers, SAN and NAS storage devices.
• Maintain and update the backup solution for the Virtual infrastructure (Veeam Backup and Replication). • Schedule and perform regular firmware updates to all virtual infrastructure hardware and, where applicable, software version upgrades. • Provide and maintain a Datacentre Asset Management System ensuring that all assets are recorded and updated/removed when required. • Provide guidance and training on the VMware and Proxmox platforms, ensuring users have the competence to perform tasks within their assigned ‘role-based access’ constraints. • Ensure monitoring of platform services is working and accurately defined based on appropriate alerting thresholds.Key Skills:• VMware & ProxMox• Network infrastructure• Windows Servers• O365• Active Directory• Azure• Driving Licence & Car!Beneficial:• Hyper-V• Powershell• MSP ExperienceBenefits: • 24 days holidays + bank holidays• Paid Certs • Life Assurance • Company Bonus • Hybrid Working
