They are year-on-year Financial Times award winners in their space. Their main product is a web-based application hosted from their data centres, providing live stock market data feeds, market news, company information, and forecasts from a range of data providers to private investors and corporate clients. In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Infrastructure. Our client has a great office based in Shoreditch, and this would be a hybrid role with the expectation to come into the office ideally 3 days a week. You will join a close-knit, fun team during a period of change where you can impact the business and help shape the infrastructure. In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Infrastructure. They are looking for a dynamic Windows and Linux infrastructure engineer to join their team ahead of some major changes to their environments. Our client is changing their storage, server, virtualisation, and platform setup; moving from CentOS to Ubuntu, and looking to change their virtualisation and Windows server platforms to improve their environments. Essential skills:Windows Server and Windows Desktop OS installation and support, including GPO/PoliciesEssential Linux server admin skills – CentOS moving to UbuntuVMware ESXi and vCenter, and virtualisation products such as OpenStack KVMServer hardware: Dell, HP, SupermicroBash scripting and use of GIT/AnsibleExcellent problem-solving skills, ‘thinking on your feet’Office 365/Teams supportGood understanding of network switching and routing (e.g., IP Routing, BGP EVPN)Excellent documentation skills Nice to have skills:MySQLApache/Tomcat web serverBackup or D2D backup systems (Veeam/Arcserve)Strong understanding of networks, including Cisco and Juniper hardwareKnowledge of BGP and routing protocolsFirewalling skills and understandingSecurity protocols and procedures, Linux OS lockdown processesISO27001 and ITSM practices Our client is looking for a driven engineer who has an analytical mind, can think on their feet, and is genuinely excited by the prospect of making an impact daily.
