Job Title: Infrastructure Specialist Location: London (Hybrid)Industry: InsuranceSalary: Up to 75kStart Date: ASAPThe Role: Assist in the strategic design and implementation of core infrastructure to ensure high availability and create and manage service improvement plans. Provide 3rd level IT support to respond and resolve incidents escalated to the team in a timely manner. As part of our infrastructure delivery, we support the planning, design, development and delivery of new services and improvements to existing services. Ownership of systems used for monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and security patching. Ensuring compatibility and interoperability of computer systems. Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies to improve implementation decisions. Conduct research on hardware and software products, justify recommendations, and support purchasing and service improvement activities. Actively assist in the design and implementation of long-term strategic objectives and short-term tactical plans for the management and maintenance of enterprise systems and software. Develop, document, communicate, and enforce policies and procedures to standardize systems and software as appropriate. Use training materials to demonstrate personal responsibility for your own development and identify ways for continuous improvement. Resolve issues escalated from the Service Desk and other support teams to the Infrastructure Operations team within the agreed schedule. Manage, build, support, and maintain all server components in your environment. Collaborate with internal and external project management teams on major projects and improvements within the infrastructure delivery team. Leverage existing knowledge base tools to promote and contribute to a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing. Requirements: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory and ideally Exchange and/or SQL Server.Strong knowledge of AWS and AzureSome Azure experience would be beneficial.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 services.Previous experience working with a variety of technology stacks for compute, storage, virtualisation, and network products ideally consisting of VMware, Cisco UCS, HP Nimble, Pure, and others.Proven experience of backup/restore packages.
