We are currently looking for a Deputy Technical Lead (VMware Private Cloud) for our client in the defence sector based in The Hague, Netherlands.
Please note that as a minimum you will require to have a valid SC clearance or Nato Secret clearance.
Job Summary:
The Deputy Technical Lead oversees technical progress, ensuring alignment with client's standards. They coordinate daily with various technical teams, provide expert guidance on SDN implementations and troubleshoot technical issues. This role involves leading the design and architecture of the infrastructure, managing security compliance, and optimizing performance. The individual communicates regularly with stakeholders, prepares technical reports, and ensures seamless integration of between Product Teams to build a Private Cloud capability. They possess extensive experience in data centers, networking, virtualization, and security, along with strong leadership and communication skills, and must hold or obtain the required security clearance.
Required skills and experience:
Extensive experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and virtualization.
Significant experience in managing and leading technical teams in large-scale IT projects.
Proven experience with SDN technologies (e.g., Cisco ACI, Palo Alto NGFW, F5 ADCs).
Experience with VMWare Private Cloud setup and management.
Expertise in VMware technologies, particularly VMware Horizon, vSphere, NSX, and vRealize/Aria Suite.
Deep understanding of network architectures, protocols, and standards.
Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
Experience with cloud computing platforms and services.
Familiarity with network security principles, practices, and tools.
Experience implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with security policies.
Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and vRealize Automation.
Knowledge of scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Capability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
Experience in planning, organizing, and managing project tasks and resources.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment..
Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural environment.
BS degree or Masters
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
