You'll transform visionary ideas into tangible prototypes and proof of concepts (POCs), using cutting-edge technologies to address key customer and business challenges. Your role will bridge the gap between theoretical innovation and practical application, supporting Centrica's renewable energy and smart technology initiatives.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Hybrid (home-based with occasional office travel)</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>POC Development & Prototyping:</strong> Build scalable prototypes and POCs aligned with our sustainable energy goals.</p></li><li><p><strong>Technical Innovation:</strong> Use AI, drones, and robotics to solve complex problems.</p></li><li><p><strong>Cross-functional Collaboration:</strong> Work with Innovation Designers and team members to align technical development with business objectives.</p></li><li><p><strong>Agile Methodology:</strong> Use agile practices to produce high-quality code and facilitate iterative feedback.</p></li><li><p><strong>Cloud and DevOps Basics:</strong> Enhance collaboration and streamline development using cloud platforms and DevOps practices.</p></li><li><p><strong>Design Skills Application:</strong> Contribute to user interface and experience aspects of prototypes.</p></li><li><p><strong>Knowledge Sharing:</strong> Mentor team members and foster a learning environment.</p></li><li><p><strong>Stakeholder Interaction:</strong> Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and validate innovations.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Skills and Knowledge:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Development:</strong> Experience with JS, CSS, React, Python, Unity/Unreal, AWS or Azure platforms preferable</p></li><li><p><strong>POC Development:</strong> Proven track record of developing prototypes and POCs.</p></li><li><p><strong>Technical Proficiency:</strong> Strong programming skills with various languages and frameworks.</p></li><li><p><strong>Emerging Technology Experience:</strong> Hands-on experience with AI, drones, or robotics.</p></li><li><p><strong>Cloud and DevOps Understanding:</strong> Basic knowledge of cloud services and DevOps principles.</p></li><li><p><strong>Design Capability:</strong> Skills in developing user-friendly interfaces.</p></li><li><p><strong>Agile Expertise:</strong> Proficiency with agile development methodologies.</p></li><li><p><strong>Innovation Background:</strong> Experience in innovation or product teams, with exposure to large organisations and startups (nice to have)</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>Be part of a team driving the UK's energy transformation.
