This role will initially be a 23-month fixed-term contract and based in our Manchester office where we offer a hybrid-approach to working.
What you’ll do as an Interaction Designer
research, design and test clear, usable and inclusive ways for citizens to interact with our digital services
map and examine user journeys to develop appropriate designs that meet user needs
prototype design ideas using appropriate tools at different fidelities
design inclusive ways for all users to achieve their goals regardless of their access needs
work closely with service designers, user researchers,, and developers to build services that solve the whole problem for a user
take part in designing and conducting user research to develop, test and iterate multiple design ideas
follow the GOV.UK Design system, the Service Manual and the GOV.UK Style guide
have a deep understanding of the design components and patterns in the different services
experience of designing clear and usable interfaces that meet user needs
experience of using Figma or similar tools to develop, illustrate and test new experience journeys
experience of designing inclusive services that meet a wide range of access needs
experience of working closely with others in multidisciplinary teams to collaboratively develop, test and iterate multiple design ideas
confident in giving and receiving constructive feedback on user centred design ideas
adept at leading collaborative design activities
experience planning and doing continuous user research in a multidisciplinary team will be essential, as will the experience of involving your team in research activities, analysis, and synthesis
