Role: Interim Audit and Risk ConsultantSector: Social HousingDays: 3/4 days per weekLocation: Hybrid, Southwest, 1-2 days pwStart: ASAP, late SeptDay Rate: c£550 outside IR35, via ltd co.Contract Length: c.6 monthsJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced Interim Audit and Risk Consultant to support our client, a social housing provider based in the southwest.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in reviewing and prioritising key governance recommendations and enhancing the overall safety and compliance of our operations.Key Responsibilities:Risk and Audit Committee:Work with the newly formed Risk and Audit Committee to set the framework, setting objectives, and defining roles and responsibilities.Oversee the review and refinement of the risk register, ensuring that it accurately reflects the organisation's current risk landscape.Governance Review and Prioritisation:Assess and prioritise the recommendations from a recent deep dive governance review to ensure they are effectively implemented and that the organisation remains compliant and safe from a governance standpoint.Develop a clear action plan to address high-priority governance issues and work closely with the board and senior management to execute these actions.Risk Management:Provide expert guidance on risk management practices, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively across the organisation.Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate risk management into the organisation’s strategic planning and operational processes.Reporting and Communication:Prepare and present detailed reports to the board and senior management on the status of the risk management framework and governance improvements.Review and update internal policies and procedures.Ensure clear communication and alignment between the board, the Risk and Audit Committee, and other internal teams regarding governance and risk-related matters.Qualifications:Extensive experience in audit, risk management, or governance within the social housing sector.Strong understanding of governance best practices and the ability to prioritise and implement recommendations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.If this role is of interest to you, please send your CV to ##### with your availability to start.
