Interim Divisional Finance Director

Our client, a well-established, consumer-focused, multi-site business headquartered in the West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Interim Divisional Finance Director to join their leadership team.

This role is offered on an initial 6-month contract outside IR35, with the potential for extension. It is primarily based in the West Midlands, with occasional travel to other sites across the UK and flexibility for hybrid working.

Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the CEO and Board, you will play an essential role in supporting strategic initiatives, guiding financial operations, and leading transformation across the division. You'll help shape the organisation's future success, ensuring financial sustainability while fostering a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Location: West Midlands (2-3 days per week onsite, with occasional travel to other sites across the UK)

Contract length: 6 months +

Candidate Rate: �800-�1,000 per day (outside IR35)

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Divisional Finance Director

• Conduct a thorough review of the current finance team structure, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, capabilities, and collaboration.
• Lead the delivery of cost initiatives and transformation projects to enhance operational effectiveness and support sustainable growth.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the organisation's objectives and adapting to market conditions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Group CFO, CEO, and Board, offering clear financial insights and supporting informed decision-making.
• Ensure strong financial controls, accurate forecasting, and transparent reporting to aid commercial strategies.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration and maintain positive stakeholder relationships across multiple UK sites, with occasional travel.
• Lead, support, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous learning, inclusivity, and high performance.

Essential requirements of the Interim Divisional Finance Director

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
• Experienced Finance Director with a successful track record in consumer-facing, multi-site organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transformation projects, cost-saving initiatives, and team development.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly at executive and board level.
• Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to balance strategic focus with operational hands-on involvement.
• Committed to fostering an inclusive, high-performing team environment.
