Description
You will act as the Procurement Lead Consultant and implement strategies, advise and support in setting up the procurement function.
- Involved with the strategic implementation of procurement principles, driving procurement activity, setting KPI's, analysing spent report, implementing training and setting the function up for the organisation.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise efficiencies and cost savings.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers. review supplier contracts to ensure the best terms and conditions.
- Ensure that procurement policies comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the college.
- Implement risk management procedures to minimise procurement risks.
- Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance.
- Provide leadership and guidance to procurement team members.
Profile
A successful Interim Procurement Consultant should have:
- A proven track record working as a procurement consultant and based in the north ( hybrid working required)
- Proven experience in a senior procurement role helping to implement the strategy, introduce processes and review all contracts.
- Ideally worked within education or public sector
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and take them on a journey
- Excellent negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail.
- A strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
