Based in the global HQ at Baker Street, the internal communications team provides support to UK and global offices, providing strategic advice, formulating and implementing internal communication strategies and campaigns.
The Internal Communication Business Partner, Corporate will be key to delivering our strategy as it will enable people at Knight Frank to feel informed, connected, and purposeful in their contributions. We have an ambitious strategy which will reinforce our purpose-led culture and new ways of working, ensuring our relevance and positive global impact. To drive this ambition, Knight Frank needs to professionalise how we approach Corporate internal communication, aligned to our growing business.
Successful communication will create an environment of mutual understanding, forging connections between people, allowing them to perform at their best, both individually and collectively.
This role will work as part of an established team who are up for the challenge and committed to both the Knight Frank purpose and the 20,000 people who work across our global network. There is work to do to build understanding of the value that brilliant internal communication can deliver for business and its critical role in supporting strategy, culture, and the employee experience.
You will work directly with the Senior Partner and Group Chair and the Executive Office to bring together the business narrative and create a framework for purpose-led storytelling across the business.
The role will take ownership of our global channels and work with the global internal comms teams to improve our channels and provide a basis for better self-service internal communication in the future.
Responsibilities
Moving from communication to engagement. Making sure our communication is appropriate to Knight Frank’s culture; building a deep, empathetic but evidence-based understanding of people and their needs; helping create an environment where employee voice and collaboration is part of our DNA and individual and team contribution to success is recognised and celebrated.
Creating and curating content for our global audiences. Facilitating mutual understanding by creating an environment that encourages and supports meaningful conversations in all directions and enables effective collaboration. Creating coherent and purposeful messages which inform, engage, inspire and drive action, supporting leaders in effective dialogue and conversation.
Strategy, planning and business acumen: Combining commercial knowledge with an understanding of people to develop and implement a communication strategy for our Senior Partner and Group Chair and strategies, plans and creative campaigns to engage people at all levels with key activities, such as our Group Vision and Strategy and ESG. Work with the global team, including the team responsible for UK internal communication, to agree the long-term plan and bring further alignment around internal communication across our global network.
Channel and community management: Proficiency in development, delivery, management, and evaluation of a channel infrastructure for effective multi-directional communication, ensuring the optimum blend and use of face to face, written and digital channels to support business and people needs.
Conducting research, measuring, and demonstrating value: Utilise effective data, research, measurement, and evaluation techniques to deliver meaningful insights and evidence and robustly demonstrate the value and impact of high standard internal communication, and ensure communication approaches are underpinned by robust research into business needs.
Influencing and advising: Deploying influencing skills when making recommendations regarding internal communication through effective stakeholder relationships; transferring knowledge to equip others to adopt highly effective internal communications practices; and being seen as a trusted advisor to the Senior Partner and Chair.
Develop and deliver the group communications calendar and activities. Work in partnership with key stakeholders including the CPO, CFO and Executive Office to ensure a joined-up approach and consistent messaging across the organisation.
Leadership
Lead the delivery of our Group-wide internal communications strategy, bringing to life our purpose for our people. You will be responsible for providing strategic internal communication consultancy and project support for key projects, with a particular focus on continuing to drive trust and credibility in our leadership through authentic communications.
Be an advocate for Internal Communication, ensuring leaders understand the service proposition and operating model, working proactively with them to help embed the business strategy and purpose.
Work closely with the wider team of communicators, ensuring a consistent approach to delivery of key activities such as the Group Vision and Strategy and ESG in their locations. Beyond this, influence and shape global capabilities as part of the Group Internal Communication network.
Partner, provide guidance, and act as a sounding board and source of communication expertise for senior leaders and key functions, to deliver high quality creatively strong content and messaging.
Key Success / Performance Indicators:
Planning of programmes of activity for the Senior Partner and Chair and ESG to complement local calendars of activity.
Deliver improved understanding of core internal messages using effective channels.
Deliver improved self-service of operational communications.
Provide internal communications expertise, coaching leaders to deliver, driving high performance.
Build and develop key relationships.
About you
A track-record of full ownership of communications activity, working with senior leaders in a global business. Experience of aligning communication messages with change management activity and overall programme milestones. Ability to operate at pace and simplify complexity and ensure the value behind the message.
You will have:
Over six years’ experience working as a Senior Internal Communication professional.
Extensive experience of working with senior leadership teams, providing strategic advice and internal communication counsel.
Experience working a professional service or partnership environment.
Proven success developing and executing strategic employee communications across a variety of channels
Excellent organisational, coordination, project and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent knowledge of communication best practice, with specific understanding of the role of internal communication and employee engagement in business.
Confidence to advise and challenge internal stakeholders.
A team player who works within a team and provides senior influence and leadership.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and change in a positive way.
Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and develop workable solutions.
Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and computing skills.
